It seems that I am impure.

Can the residents of Adequacy help me to regain my former state? Or is there no going back?

Boring you with my diary
In other words, it's time to lay off the coffee as caffiene no longer seems to have any effect.

*Sob*

I miss the time when a cup of strong black coffee of a morning would efficiently wake up the senses and set the mind abuzz for a new day. Or a late night espresso could prolong the day and waste less time in sleep. Sadly, that is now lost to me. Lost I tell you!

Bah.

You're one of those K5'rs, aren't you? Well, I never. Well, this site is just going to heck in a handbag with all you snotty little ingrates posting your snivelling dribble on this site for intellectuals. Now why don't you take your tripe and go to some lame arse site, such as livejournal dot com where they care about your daily habits. This site is for less mundame things so I suggest you take that into consideration missy.

And, I suggest you take a look at my low two digit uid before you reply. Really.

Best wishes,

Pardon me Sir. I tremble before your obvious elite status. I have transgressed.

I did not realise that serious and possibly permenant damage to my physiology was a mundane thing. I thought that perhaps Adequacy could be a place where the true horror of this socially acceptable habit could be rationally discussed. But it seems that you too are part of the coverup...

In order to have my plight more seriously discussed, tell me, how does one become an intellectual? I am eager to learn...

I can only speak for myself, but I have a double Phd in nuclear rocket scientologyist, which speaks for itself. But then, brilliance does run in my family, I have a cousin who works for Apple Computers working on a secret project in the mouse division. We're gifted by nature I suppose.

As for what you can do.. well.. I suggest you start to hang out with the liberal post modernist crowd at trendy coffee shops. That's always a good start.

Oh how I can't wait for K5 to come back to life so you people will leave us gifted ones alone. Really.

Best wishes,

How cruelly you throw my plight back in my face! Perhaps that old idea of the super-intelligent being lacking in appropriate social skills is true.

If that is so, I prefer my mediocre existence.

I have noticed a distinct increase in the level of whining since the boat people started arriving. Is that what that K5 web site was all about? If so, I'm glad I never stumbled across it, I always assumed it was dedicated to hacking or some such, considering that there is a number right in the middle of the name.

caffeine is a gateway drug (5.00 / 1) (#3)

please move on to crystal meth. i've seen people on it (i'm a downer kinda guy myself) and i assure you it works. of course, you will have to learn to deal with the side-effects. like the chick i knew who bled from her nipples. or the guy i knew who puked and shit his pants at the same time. but hey, what's a a little undulation compared to a week with no sleep?

Damn that stuff is nice. I want some more. Lots more.

This week I have run out of money, so instead of buying lunch I have been taking speed. It's pretty cost effective actually.

You know that old saying "Linux is really cost-effective, as long as you value your time at zero"?

I'm drawing an analogy here with "instead of buying lunch I have been taking speed. It's pretty cost effective actually"

That you want to start off down that road again, given where it might lead ?

I won't be doing that again... I just didn't fancy starving yesterday. I do make a point of not doing it very often, and I don't even have it very often either.

Did this change happen before saturday or after saturday?

Coffee works very well for me personally as I am currently quite irritable and hyper after drinking a couple of espressos. But then again that describes my normal state anyway...

Ever since work purchased the espresso machine. Ultimate irony.

You've built up tolerance to caffeine!

I thought it might be something to do with the 'aspirins' you had on Saturday night. Although they've never stopped me being affected by caffeine.

I am sure if you ask spiralx (I wonder who that might be on Adequacy, hmmm..), he can suggest lots of safe alternatives from his encylopaedic knowlege of drugs.
