 Crappy birthday

Another year has wasted away and I don't know what kind of "gift" I would want. I am a (Female) WASP from USA, but for the past two years, I have lived in China. I have missed many things. Even the Sept. 11 event. All I could do was read about it from space(cyber). It was sad to be so far away when something awful happends.

The whining about your damn gift is fine... (none / 0) (#1)

...after all you're a white American girl, and what in the whole wide world could be more important than your birthday present? By all means, write a novella on the subject. Your birthday present is so much more fascinating than anything else you could write about, like say, I don't know... China, for example.

But here is your fair warning: the kind of rabid, chauvanistic Protestant (read heretic) proselytizing you have been doing cannont continue. There are many faiths represented here at Adequacy, including not just the True Church but dozens of heretic sects as well. Leading any of them to the fires of hell the way you are is going to get you bounced right back to slashdot, understand?

Thank you, and please do not DoS the Adequacy.

I am moved to grateful tears every time someone visits adequacy without threatening to kill me. This vignette by a world travelling student of life has touched my soul with its few brief sentences. I admit, I only glanced at it long enough to read the words "China", "world" and "Birthday", but for once, I didn't see the words "DIE YOU ILIRIRIRATE DUMASS (PLAESE EMAIL ME: h4x0r@cyberdweeb.com)". I will cherish this glimpse into the life of another sweet soul for as long as I live. Please don't filthy up this one moment of pure human feeling with your hateful cynicism.

"after all you're a white American girl, and what in the whole wide world could be more important than your birthday present?"

My point was, I do not feel like celebrating. Don't draw conclusions on limmited info. You seem to have made up you mind about all WASPS, I assure you, we are not all materalistic gold diggers.

"Your birthday present is so much more fascinating than anything else you could write about, like say, I don't know... China, for example."

I write educational software for the very young, 3-6 yr olds. You will see some things on China later. Maybe not what you expect, though.

"But here is your fair warning:"

Sorry, I am at a loss, I have no idea what you mean. Reinterate following data:/
