Ok, so I'm not circumcised. I'm a dirty savage. And I'm proud of it.

I seem to be unique. Nearly every one I've talked to is circumcised, and expresses surprise when I reveal (you have a filthy mind) that I am not. Circumcision seems to be the norm in the US, as near as I can tell. How about other countries?
Thankfully, my parents were of the opinion that if the kid can't say no, its not right to chop the tip of his willy off. I tend to agree.
Despite some possible medical benefits, I remain unrepentant: being uncircumcised seems to offer some advantages in intercourse. Thoughts?

Can't say I know anyone who is circumcised, but then I live in Scotland, where it is extremely uncommon, and where people don't really talk about such things anyway.

The whole idea seems pretty funny to me. Who cares anyway? It is nawt but an irrelevance.

WTF? (1.00 / 1) (#5)
by Anonymous Reader on Sat Sep 15th, 2001 at 05:01:35 AM PST
Irrelevance? Are you fucking insane? Why not
chop off some more random body parts while
you're at it? Your toes, or your eyelids, maybe?
Heck, they don't seem to serve any useful
purpose. Your ears, for example -- cut them off,
and you'll save yourself from the terrible
rick of earlobe cancer.

Circumcision is a horrible and barbaric custom.
It is inconcievable to me that any nation that
has already invented the wheel and stopped eating
raw flesh is still practicing circumcision.

You should also be aware that the US is the
_ONLY_ nation in the _WHOLE WORLD_ that still
practices circumcision. (Except for the Jews
and Muslims, but they do it for religious
reasons of self-control, not because they are
barbaric.)

Why not chop off some more random body parts while you're at it?

Are you telling me you never cut your toenails ? You have never had a haircut ? Or an appendectomy ? Or had your spleen removed ? Or your tonsils out ?

The human body has a great deal of redundancy, and as we evolve to a higher form of life, we are controlling the structure of our bodies using technology. This is simply evolution.

Its survival of the fittest. If being circumcised is barbaric and bad for you, then the practice will die out of its own accord.

I see no difference between circumcision and say getting a tattoo, or a naval piercing. It's just fashion, follow it or ignore it, the choice is yours.

Circumcision did die out of its own
accord. Only in the U.S. and Somalia does the practice still exist. I hope you enjoy the
civilized company you are in.

Which is, of course, why we're always on top.

That's why downtown Manhattan looks like a
fucken atomic bomb blast epicenter right now.
Do you not realize that now is not the time to
spout "America is on top"?

Though I normally wouldn't presume to put words in another's mouth, I believe nx01 was referring to the American man's tendency to assume the dominant or "top" position during intercourse. This is, of course, a direct result of circumcision, as the circumcized man's glans is too insensitive to acheive orgasm in any other posture. So the practice of circumcision has important implications for feminism, and may also help explain why European women are more sexually liberated than their American counterparts.

Having foreskin offers a bit of protection for your glans and keeps it from rubbing against your clothing. Those without this protection have a much less sensitive appendage. Less sensistivity means being much slower to ejacualte. Those of us who have undergone the knife are much less likely to finish prematurely.

We can last longer then Bollero, while you're lucky if you can make it through Happy Birthday.

In other words, circumcision makes your glans
insensitive. Great.

Yeah, I've got my foreskin as well. It's a bit of a nuisance. I was nearly adult before I learned the importance of pulling it all the way back when you take a leak. That's pretty critical for the smell and general hygeine. That being said, as long as you wash under the foreskin daily and pull it back when you piss, it doesn't get particularly nasty.

It's personal, but I am (5.00 / 1) (#4)
by Adam Rightmann on Fri Sep 14th, 2001 at 01:39:01 PM PST
The Jewish people were the first people to get the Bible, and they're circumsized, so at one point in time, God must have approved of circumcision. The New Testament doesn't really go into this, but since Jesus obviosuly was, that's good enough for me.

Read the New Testament again. Especially the
Acts. You'll see that the Bible *specifically*
states that circumcision is unnecessary and
barbaric.

For a self-styled Christian, you are definitely
completely ignorant even in the most basic
tenets of your faith. Maybe you should convert
to Judaism, since you seem to know much more
about the Torah than you do about CHRISTianity.
(The emphasis is mine. Never forget that CHRIST
is what your faith is all about. Throw the
Old Testament out the widow if it is so
distracting to you.)

Read Acts, chapter 11 and Acts, chapter 15 for
the explanation of Christianity's stance on
circumcision.
