Does tequila go under "Some pussy drink"?

What's the difference between american beer and love in a canoe?
<P>
None. Both is fucking close to the water.

what's the difference between HTML and plain text?

plain text doesn't need any fucking paragraph break tags!

It was an emoticon - a conehead with a beard expressing disgust.

While there is some debate over whether HTML is an appropriate standard, Mad Scientists across the world have concluded that paragraph break tags are a much-needed missing element in natural-language writing. In order to make natural languages more easily machine-readable, the new standard is projected to be adopted some time next year.

All best,

Don't confuse intention... (none / 0) (#10)

...with the server forgetting my identity, making me relogin, falling back to plaintext as a default, and then me forgetting to make sure HTML is selected. Each time this happens I do at least one post this way.
<P>
There is no intention. It is a bug.

...Can't the Scoop engine autodetect HTML tags and when in plaintext mode ask the writer if he wasn't meaning to use HTML?

Again!

Hope the damned machine will remember it now.

So I thought the defaults are set up.

No, the server decided to not remember my settings. Exactly as it done (or hadn't done) couple weeks earlier. It apparently needs to be told several times. Or maybe it holds some status informatios on client side and my habit of urfing with many windows opened at once comes into the equation.

Me making the same mistake once again in different thread convinced me that manual checking is unsuitable and error-prone. So the machine came to the game.

What the content-amending and modifying software would be without actually using it. So from now every page from here when fetched through my proxy contains a little piece of javascript that checks for the presence of "Plaintext/HTML" SELECT and if it's there it is set to the value I am used to.

Humans are much more unreliable than the machines, especially when it comes to routine tasks.

It sounds like you're the one that's been having the beers, not DG!! Very funny stuff. Good luck getting your computer to remember your settings. Maybe it (Adequacy) defaults to the settings a user has for their previous post.

This is what I thought. (none / 0) (#14)

Maybe it (Adequacy) defaults to the settings a user has for their previous post.

This is what I thought. It explains my first and second mistake. Not the third one which was after successfully posting correct HTML, nor the fourth one.

I can't drink beer, makes me feel sick, but 24 hours of straight messing with the machines has similar effect.

Actually, I think it went something like this (none / 0) (#8)
by budlite on Sun Mar 17th, 2002 at 06:10:53 AM PST
Bruce 1: Y'know Bruce, American beer is a lot like making love in a canoe

Bruce 2: Why's that Bruce?

Bruce 3: It's fucking close to water

all in a dodgy Aussie accent.

Nitpicking, I know, but still :)

Bruce 3 shoudl be Bruce 1 again.

I must recomend Australian Beer, it truly is of the finest quality. Also another personal favorite of mine in Kronenberg.
