Finally got a connection up (and some spare time) a couple of days ago. As many of you might not have noticed, I have been absent for the past few weeks, presently assisting in a study between male/female interactions in Brazil.

Currently I am in San Paulo. I'm too lazy to grab the exact figures, but women outnumber men here significantly. Long story short, skipping past all of the statistical data and cultural analysis - almost any man can get several very attractive women competing over him, many of them intelligent, educated professionals and whatnot. While this is not news to the more travelled (and not the first study done on the subject), with summer getting into full swing for many of the adequate, I thought I'd just throw this little tidbit out there for those of the male population that have yet to make any vacation plans.

So Nathan, you have any plans this summer?

PS- My Portuguese is absolutely awful. Is that a proper "hello"?

	And the funny part is, most of the women don't mind. It's almost expected for men to have multiple lovers at once. I never said that this was an ideal place for the relationship hunters. I merely brought it up because I thought there might be a few single men here that might want to relax this summer being mobbed by dozens of beautiful Brazilian women (and man, there are a lot of beautiful women here - it's that year long beach culture). Even though I have never actively accepted the advances of the women here (currently being in a relationship) I have spoken with a number of them, and you do bring up a valid point. Although many of them are college-educated (with a good number holding masters and doctorates), many of them were still... well... rather shallow and infuriatingly dumb. There were exceptions to the rule, of course, but for the most part I couldn't hold a conversation for more than 5 minutes with most of them (unless it was about dancing, sex, or how revealing their attire was). This seems to be most rampant in San Paulo. I won't bore you with the reasons that many of us have come up with as to why they act as such, however. Hey Attics, you were in Brazil a while back, right? Did you notice this type of behavior and mindset with the women in Rio (we have yet to reach that city), or were they a little more, shall we say, reserved? What were your observations? 	that I met everyone I know in Rio in the context of a business relationship, and there wasn't a lot of time for socializing. The women I worked with at my corporate client office were invariably smart, professional and highly educated. When we weren't talking about business, we talked about our families, differences between Brazilian and American cultures, and parts of Rio I should visit during my stay. The one big difference was in dress styles. Even in the office, Brazilian women dress much sexier than their American counterparts. I quickly got used to seeing low-cut blouses, tight pants and skirts, and ridiculously high heels in the office corridors. And this was just taken to more of an extreme on the street and particularly on the beach.
