Describe how you would edit the following comment (none / 0) (#1)
by eSolutions on Wed Aug 28th, 2002 at 07:53:09 PM PST
All right, editor-to-be. Keep in mind that much of what makes Adequacy valuable is its editing of comments. Other webologs fail to provide this valuable constructive criticism, choosing instead to ignore their flock like a cold, suddenly-hostile brown-haired thin five-nine lawyer stepfather.

At times, CumedinherTaco or Rustov will descent to regally mock their charges. Adequacy editors, however, pay strict attention. They provide the constant smothering of a brown-haired five-four obsessive white lawyer mother.

So suppose you reach the following comment, attached to, say, Perdida's "Shit or Get Off the Pot". No other editor has had the time to revise this hypothetical comment. How would *you* edit this post, if the editor *were you*?

Subject: hey what about the welcsh

Its a well known fact that welcsh are the upper crust of street prostitution. Yet they are barely compensated for their effors. I procured the servixes of a welcsh tart just last night and it cost me but thruppence. Are these rougue-encrusted whore-walkers not also thus entitled to reperations?

And what about the gipsies too? I was swindled by one just the other day and he could have gotten a lot more. Reperations for him too LOL!!!

Love,
Anonymous Cowerd

Make the author of the comment Editor instead. I'm not sure why he's so pissed off over grape juice, but what's a good Editor without a few quirks?

User's post has been deleted for reasons of idiocy.

Now read my own 'controversial', dead horse flogging views:

Copyright, Microsoft are teh best, so and so is a troll, Copyright, Microsoft are teh best, troll, Copyright, so and so is a troll, Microsoft are teh best, Copyright, Microsoft are teh best, so and so is a troll, Copyright, Microsoft are teh best, Copyright, Microsoft are teh best...

[Meta-RobotSlave posting has been Meta-Edited by the Meta-Editor for reasons of tedium.]

Do I get the job then?

In the name of controversy, I'd suggest to revoke RobotSlave's deleting privileges.

Controversy can't thrive in any environment infested with censorship. By his acts, RobotSlave is endangering the very foundations of Adequacy.org.

I am not sure how long this comment will stay here. Because of WeKnowWho...

Don't worry. (none / 0) (#7)

Deleted comments don't actually go away. Editors can still view them. The question is, do they care. Another question is, why do you care so much. It's just a fucking weblog, for Christ's sake.

That BobotSlave boy is indeed abusing his power *not* for sake of *keeping trolls away* (the only original and legitimate reason an editor should use his power for) but for pure selfish and evil purposes. There is nothing wrong by itself in abusing power for pure selfish and evil purposes, but in this instance it happens that this abuse is harming crontoversy every five minutes or so. Maybe time came for someone to delete something from somewhere, and I'm not talking about you or my adequacy account or comments, Mister BobotSlave.

And who are you to say what the editors should and should not be doing? You seem to forget that the editors are our betters and we are here only to amuse them.

I think you try to irritate me, Mister (none / 0) (#12)

All I said about what editors should and shouldn't do is not any idea of mine, but the result of carefully reading of comments posted by the very adequacy editors.
Another issue I would like to talk you about, Mister, is the cause-effect relationship. It is *me* who is being amused by adequacy, not the opposite.

It should be deleted (5.00 / 1) (#8)
by PotatoError on Thu Aug 29th, 2002 at 09:21:21 AM PST
I strongly believe that despicable post should be deleted.

When Anonymous Cowerd suggessed that "640k
is enough for anybody" I was shocked and appalled.
Doesn't he realise that while 640k may be enough for the welsh, it definitely isn't enough for normal people.

The spelling is also attrocious and I feel strongly about that sort of thing.
