~~I just finished reading T Reginald Gibbons great writing titled "Is your son a computer hacker?". While incredibly stupid and although he may not be idiot of the century, this was a very naive story.~~

The first thing that infuriated me was the thought that programs like "Flash, Bonzi Buddy, and Comet Cursor" could be hack software. Flash is for viewing animations/movies on the internet. Bonzi Buddy is a search engine/desktop helper and Comet Cursor allows you to have custom cursors while on the computer.

The thought that "Cindy" would know what hacking looks like is absurd. You can hack in the DOS window that can be accessed through Windows, you can hack with certain programs, and you can even hack through AOL's Instant Messanger. How the hell would some broad know what hacking looks like? For all we know he was reading HTML code.

Quake = Hacker Meeting Ground? Excuse me while I take my rage out on the wall. QUAKE IS A COMPUTER GAME. Yes, hackers play it. Hell, hackers play all games out there as long as they're online. So what are you going to do, ban all online games? More blatant idiodicy.

I bet your kid was doing absolutely nothing wrong and now you've banned him from the computer until he's "Mature". Damn am I lucky I have parents that know more about computers than what they heard from their friends. I wish it displayed your e-mail or something worthwhile so I could hack the hell out of your machine just to show you what a real hacker can do. I don't know if anyone will even see this, but what the hell, it's worth a shot.

	...of hacking as our resident doctor will tell you is Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD for short. Apparently in most cases of GERD, patients are unconscious of the real problem. Symptoms are changes in the voice, and glandular spasms (of which this diary is a prime example). See here for further details.

	I am still a little less than 3 years away from that MD degree. But yes, GERD (or "GORD," as our British friends call it) is a serious problem. Although hacking is by far the most serious public health problem caused by GERD, there are other problems as well. Untreated GERD can lead to "Barrett's Esophagus," cancer and death! If you are suffering from night-time attacks of GERD, you might want to ask your doctor about Protonix.
