The first thing was that my access at Uni had severe restrictions placed on it. The tightarse faculty I happen to be in decided that student internet access could no longer be provided for free. Thus every meg downloaded had to be paid for and the Uni has a thoroughly shitty deal on its bandwidth. It works out to about $120 a Gig.I'm poor enough as it is. So soon after finding this place, it was taken away from me.
I had almost squandered my time here before that horrible day observing what goes on here, to get a feel for the course, so to speak. My observations shall comprise a later entry here. I was getting geared up to write something for you guys (cheers to Perdita for the encouragement) when I lost my free bandwidth. Aiyah.
I moved out of my residence not too long after that. The dead end, one horse town I hail from (Warrnambool, I hate you) still has all the life of a rotting cow carcass. That is, full of maggots and flies. No chance of getting employment either. To compound this pain all I have here to access the non-RL world is the Worst 56k Dial Up In The World. I get cut off at least three times an hour and it take upwards of 40 minutes to get on in the first place. And so slow... How do people live with this?
So that's my story and my absence explained. It doesn't really concern anyone else but I needed a starting point to launch my other ravings from. Thankyou for reading if you got this far.
