Is fiction permitted in the Diaries?

There is a fictive work I should like to post in this charming Diary section, if that is possible. However, if that sort of material is frowned upon by the fine editorial staff here, I shall of course find another venue for my little tale. If it is ok, I'll likely post the story at the end of the week. Have an enlightening evening.

I've seen at least one entry that is "partially fictional."

Personally, I wouldn't be opposed to fiction, but I am not an editor. I think some fiction should probably be identified as such, so people won't call you a liar. But there are some instances where fiction can be more fun if it is presented as fact.

I say, go for it!

We at adequacy are very happy with works of fiction. It is really wup to you, your diary is your own as long as you don't post contentless rot, or copy (without attribution) what has already been said elsehwere.

Excuse me for my tardiness, Adequacy is vry slow just now.

Also excuse me for my politeness; I am rather drunk just now, and so more polite than I should be. I apologise for this!

♥, bc.

We strive for user interaction with the userbase. by posting your story to Adequacy.org, you will receive helpful commentary from our elite team of writers, intellectuals, philosophers, lawyers, and others superiour to the mindless average american citizen. be wared though, that some may have critical objections to your works, but in general, please feel free to post. I, for one, look forward to your work.

You should just post it and let us judge. (5.00 / 1) (#4)

Adequacy.org's secret is that all the power rests in the mighty hands of the editors, and none in the users' shaking, craven little paws. Other systems have been tried, such as letting the users have a say, but I ask you: Where are they now? Where? See? I rest my case.

So respect the authority of the Adequacy.org editors and just post away. If you are found wanting, you will be deleted, and hopefully you will show the proper gratitude. I don't mean you will be deleted-- your work will be deleted. It's just that the judgement against your work will also represent a personal judgement against you as an excessively flawed human being.

Which would suck, but there it is. Be sure to punish yourself accordingly if it comes to that. The up-side is that if we don't delete it, it means you are better than other people. Cool, eh?

Don't get your hopes up.

being a fictional sort of guy myself, i would say fiction is entirely proper. as long as it is in good taste, not completely lacking any sense of moral decency. i have little tolerance for such filth, which properly belongs in the letters section of juggs magazine.

it would also be entirely appropriate to include long, poetic passages referring to Natalie Portman and/or Eva Habermann, possibly engaged in a tender act of mutual respect.
