Nobody! *sniff*

I want to know who's online with me! Was this feature revoked in response to the DoS from [H]ard|OCP (or however that hacker group spells it's name)? I wish they would stop -- the site's got really slow. I don't think some people realize that their rash acts will harm other people.

	The site appears sparse just now because everything is being turned off and bolted down by elby so things run faster. We are getting zillions of hits from HardOCP & loads of other sites, plus the anime hits, which is really straining the server. So default view is minimal, topic icons and graphics are off, who's online is off, all to stream things a bit. Elby has been tweaking for ages. When all these hits die down a bit these things will be turned back on. And when we move to a new, better server at the colocation facility we have lined up, things should be better too :-) ♥, bc.

	I'm glad they have temporarily changed things to cope with all the site traffic, but if it seems to be specific articles and their responses causing the unusual load, I wonder if there is any way to do the equivalant of closing off a topic, making it so no more than, say, 400 reader responses could be posted to an article, or something like that? Tell elby all the work is appreciated.
