I'm just wondering why an individual would choose a collective identity for a 'nym, let alone something associated with those snotty imbeciles at White Wolf: Clan Ravnos: Information and History.

I celebrate my Romani heritage; bogus gypsy imposters who reinforce negative, fear-based stereotypes suck, period.

Does this mean that you're also aware of The Masquerade, or that you're also a descendant of European gypsy stock?

Me, I absolutely loathe the White Wolf folks... It's a long story, but they're tied directly to the ill-fated eve when I met my soon-to-be-ex-Spousal Unit. They also managed to screw up a 20 volume book deal to publish the collected works of Harlan Ellison, a feat which amazes me to no end. And the fact that a sizeable subculture is addicted to the crap that they actually do manage to publish galls me tremendously.

The allure of the whole "cult of the vampire" thing mystifies me. Why anyone would want to emulate a dead, soulless entity who can only survive via wimpy parasitism is beyond me -- all I can say is GET A LIFE!
