Are you going to give any details .. (5.00 / 1) (#1)

.. or are you content spewing random hate speech about an American patriot? If my understanding of these butchers is in any way incorrect, please feel free to point out how. The fact that you've not provided any examples is proof that you yourself are a Communist that is upset that the moral community is on to your little games.

ever heard of Earl Browder? (none / 0) (#3)
by loginadequacy on Sat Dec 1st, 2001 at 05:54:14 PM PST
simple question for you, Mr. seventypercent: ever heard about a Mr. Earl Russell Browder (1891-1973)? What about Felix Browder? and what his son William Browder is doing in Russia these days?

If you find out those things, we can start talking about communism in America.

Contradiction in terms (5.00 / 1) (#5)
by T Reginald Gibbons on Sat Dec 1st, 2001 at 09:07:09 PM PST
There is no such thing as "American communism". Communism is by definition un-american. Not only was this proven soundly in the fifties, by much smarter men than you, it is virtually written into America's constitution. How can any man be free to pursue happiness when there's an all-controlling state peering over his shoulder every minute of his life?

e pluribus unum (none / 0) (#6)
by loginadequacy on Sun Dec 2nd, 2001 at 06:55:09 AM PST
E pluribus unum was the motto proposed for the first Great Seal of the United States by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson.

Unfortunately, many inadequate Americans now believe anything that they have difficult to comprehend as a valid belief because the majority of his fellow citizens share the opposite belief, to show their strong support for their own inadequacy, they immediately stamp such thing, e.g. communism, as un-American.

I do believe that Cuba is in Central America, and they were quite communist... so, in a way, communist is very american.
Next time, please make a distinction as to which part of america you are refering, as 'america' does span quite a great distance.

Communism et al (none / 0) (#8)
by loginadequacy on Sun Dec 2nd, 2001 at 01:30:55 PM PST
Seldom have socially important words become more confused and divested of their historic meaning than they are at present. Two centuries ago, it is often forgotten, "democracy" was deprecated by monarchists and republicans alike as "mob rule." Today, democracy is hailed as "representative democracy," an oxymoron that refers to little more than a republican oligarchy of the chosen few who ostensibly speak for the powerless many.

"Communism", for its part, once referred to a cooperative society that would be based morally on mutual respect and on an economy in which each contributed to the social labor fund according to his or her ability and received the means of life according to his or her needs. Today, "communism" is associated with Stalinist gulag and wholly rejected as totalitarian. Its cousin, "socialism" - which once denoted a politically free society based on various forms of collectivism and equitable material returns for labor -- is currently interchangeable with a somewhat humanistic bourgeois liberalism."

If you think Adequacy will tolerate you posting random non-sequiters, you are sorely mistaken. We call that "noise", or to use a term you might understand, "crapflooding". Such posts will be deleted. Accounts that continue to "crapflood" will be closed. IP's used to carry out "crapflooding" terrorism will be blocked. The F.B.I. will be advised.

So. Was there some rational motive behind that, or are you in fact a "crapflooder"? Consider your answer carefully.
