Adequacy.org - popularity increasing.
New Adequacy Feature?
Adequacy using too much bandwidth?
As several of you have noticed, Adequacy has moved to a much faster internet connection. We are currently being hosted free of charge on an ultra thick pipe to AOL. We're currently running out of CPU though. Our current main machine is a dual processor Compaq p550 Xeon, with 2 gigs of RAM. We have tuned the database and the underlying operating system to the best of our knowhow, but we are still being pounded by the recent influx of visitors. Our efforts to drum up additional funding is starting to go sour. I am asking the bright readers of this site for suggestions on a way to either increase our funding, or possible remedies / donations of hardware. In other important news, we are now the host to the most commented on web log article anywhere on the Internet! The previous big record was held by the disgusting horde of untrained savages at slashdot.com but we have surpassed their record by over 500 comments. Congratulations loyale Adequacy readers!

and yet the most controversial site on the Internet doesn't even show up in the top 10 Google search results for "controversial". You guys clearly aren't working hard enough.

My expert busininess assosiates carefully went over your business plan. The first thing you failed to do was take advantage of prevaling market conditions when you first started this now infamous company. The second mistake was hiring two thousand editors in your expensive waterfront office. Free breakfast, lunch and dinner, sir? You gave all of them an so called "Playstation 2" in their office? We here at Martin-Cortez Corporation would like to know what it was you where thinking sir?

Sell Tshirts.

As NTK have said, it's the only way to make money on the net.

(well, bar one)

Jests aside... (none / 0) (#6)

Actually, that might be a very good idea. No doubt the adequacy archives contain an unparalleled wealth of witty sayings and aphorisms; a little bit of an effort towards searching them would go a long way.

The key here is variety -- instead of boring old adequacy logos, sell T-shirts with witty sayings on them.

Peace and much love...

Indeed, sir. (5.00 / 1) (#7)

I would personally like to order an "adequate gray" t-shirt, with Adequacy's Liberal Myth icon on the front, and the text of seventypercent's classic gem on the back. Adequate thinking needs to be prominently displayed in public - particularly the 'real world', which I hear so much about.

In fact, given em's recent casting of enlightenment, I imagine one could sell a long series of Liberal Myth t-shirts - the 'moon', the 'sky', the 'ground', 'trees', 'cities', 'people'... a good entrepreneur would kill for such a strong-selling idea.

One thing you should do... (none / 0) (#9)

Is immediately switch those lowly Xeons over to a mature, well tested, mission critical, web server/operating system. Also, you will need to run a flexible, closed source database back end.

Thanks for again partaking of my unbounded intelligence, and faultless grammar.
