Isn't that a tesseract? No that's 2 to the 4th. What's the fifth dimension? Penta-something.

Sometimes it's hard getting around without my walker and oxygen tank, especially when my rheumatoid flares up. If I make it to 35 I'll be happy.

Take it from someone who's on the cusp of 37... the aches and pains just keep accumulating and hope diminishes, really.

Me, I'm just thankful that the restaurant I took the "birthday boy" to to celebrate last night had forgiving (dim) lighting; I've no doubt that it's why the waiter complimented Shoeboy for his good fortune to have "his health, his hair, and the company of a beautiful woman." I thought it was rather artful that he made no reference to his perception of the nature of our relationship, however. ;)

Uggghh. (none / 0) (#20)

"blah, blah, blah... and the company of a beautiful woman."

Wow. You just can't go anywhere without someone noticing your beauty, can you? And we can't be spared from hearing about it. I think you are very insecure.

I thought it was rather artful that he made no reference to his perception of the nature of our relationship, however. ;)

Or maybe, like everyone else, HE DOESN'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK.

Thank you.

I suddenly (none / 0) (#29)

have visions of Julie Andrews dancing around a convent before she goes off to nanny the von Trapp brood...

What (none / 0) (#30)
by osm on Thu Feb 7th, 2002 at 02:52:47 PM PST
do you have against the von Trapp girls??

Nothing. (none / 0) (#31)
by hauntedattics on Thu Feb 7th, 2002 at 03:18:03 PM PST
I've even taken the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg.

Why do you ask?

Oh. (none / 0) (#32)
by osm on Thu Feb 7th, 2002 at 03:59:59 PM PST
I thought you were criticizing the von Trapp girls. Maybe it's because I am reminded more of Shelley Long in Cheers.

Oops. (none / 0) (#33)
by hauntedattics on Fri Feb 8th, 2002 at 06:14:49 AM PST
Oh, chloedancer doesn't remind me of the von Trapp girls. Her comments about confidence just reminded me of the part in Sound of Music where Julie Andrews dances around, singing, "I have confidence in confidence alone...in fact as you can see, I have CONFIDENCE IN ME!!"

Or some such nauseatingly upbeat twaddle.

Actions speak louder than words, do they not, osm? I'd say that you can dish it out, but you've rather aptly demonstrated can't take it... C'est la vie.

You're 12 years older than Shoeboy? I'm thinking of pursuing older women. You have just made me think harder about it.

I was in college before he started grade school, believe it or not.

As to the merits of older women, I'll defer to Shoeboy for comment if he's so inclined.

All I know is that I'm finally at a point in life where my personal enjoyment is my highest priority; I think it's also safe to say that Shoeboy's happy to keep me company for the ride.

And I'm never having another birthday. NeverNeverNeverNeverNever. I can handle 29, but 30 is just too much for me to handle.

As a child I wanted to know everything. Now I miss my ignorance.

30 is great. You get all kinds of cool presents, maybe a few grey hairs, and finally people start taking you seriously.

Nah, just kidding. Except for that grey hairs part.
