 South Park lied to me!

Canadians don't say 'aboot' I know this to be true, because I was at my good friend's wedding on Saturday, and I asked his lovely Canadian bride to say the word in question. "about" she replied! How many more untruths is this shoddily animated but amusing show broadcasting in the name of comedy?

The ones I know pronounce it more like "aboat." If their accent isn't particularly strong, it's easy to miss. They also say "sorey" instead of "sorry."

"proh-cess" instead of "prah-cess." At least the intern in my office last summer did. I suppose they learnt it from the Brits.

Trust me. If you want to 'experience' it, just rent the movie 'Fargo' (yes i know Fargo is in the US).
I gotta warn you though, its like nails down the chalkboard. You can just turn off the movie, but, sadly, you can't just turn off Canada.

You can't turn off Canada.

However, it appears that Canada is a turn off for you.

Wondering why...

I didn't have to wear a cast, just a sling. I'm grumpy because of new car shopping.

Details later.
