I know it's supposed to be some sort of statement but is the "My" in front of all the options in the user links box thing really necessary? It wouldn't be too much to ask to lose it, would it?

Our Usability Engineering Task Force has conducted a very in depth study. One early recomendation from this group was the link changes you mention.

The remainder of their findings have been handed over to the User Interface Development Team for implementation analysis. It is my understanding that we will soon be adopting Microsoft's Passport authentication scheme in order to further aid our readership in making productive use of our web site.

Could we change it so that under 'My Adequacy Preferences' it says 'My Users', 'My Display', and 'My Comments'?

Also, instead of 'Who's Online?', could it say 'Who's Online With Me?'

It should be 'My Online Adequacy buddies' instead of 'Who's online'

These are, by the way, the same people who improved Microsoft Windows immeasurably by the same trick of prefixing everything with "My" (My Computer, My Network Places, My Documents, My Vomit, etc.), so obviously they know what they're doing. You'll love it once you get used to it. Like you, I wasn't sure at first that this was the way to go, but ever since my head injury it makes so much more sense.

Personally, I think we should put a 'my' in front of everything on the site: My Front Page, My Meta Page, My Diaries...

My Plain Text Format

That way we can all have the shiny, happy feeling that adequacy belongs to all us.
