A few friends of mine were getting tickets to the midnight showing of Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones on opening night (or morning). So I went along; I figured it would be a good relaxer after the test I took that day.

That was a bad idea.

The night before, I had gone to sleep at 3am, and woke up at 6am to take the test at 7. Then I had classes all day, and performed neglected errands like getting a haircut.

So after this extremely long day, I went to see a movie in a darkened theater from 12:05am-2:30am. Needless to say, I had trouble paying attention.

The love scenes had me resting my eyes, every time. I don't think I ever actually fell asleep, but I wasn't paying too much attention. Loud sound effects roused me periodically.

Near the end, they were fighting the main battle, and I realized I had no idea who the villian guy was, or where he came from. A Jedi summarily killed someone who I had thought was a good guy. I wasn't really sure how Amidala fit into the movie at all.

So now I am $7.50 poorer, and left only with vague memories of lightsabers and spaceships. I suppose I will have to watch it again.

Moral of the Story: If you must get your midnight sci-fi fix, watch Star Trek on TV. It's cheaper, and you'll feel the same in the morning.

Question for all you Goth/Punk/Metal/Rave weirdos: Several Goth/Punk/Metal/Rave weirdos came to the movie in wheelchairs. Why? Was there some statement that went totally over my head? Were they trying to get good handicap seats up front? Has years of kernel-hacking and ecstasy abuse left their legs withered and useless?

I remember that. Not clearly. I didn't remember what it sounded like, just the delay. I remember the split second where I thought "What? Is Lucas all-of-a-sudden obeying the laws of physics now?"

stupid romance with stupid ending and stupid plot, the only thing that got me interested in this movie was Yoda, he kicked some serious ass at the end in that fight.
