Should I care?

Baseball.
I cannot stand to go to a game. If its on TV, that is fine, as that gives me the opportunity to do other, more productive things while a game is being played. But even then, I do not care about the game, other than the effect the outcome may have on my wife or her family. You see, I am a baseball widower. Yes, come time for the game, my wife forgets my existance and the game replaces me in her world. I become less then secondary, unless I am called upon to provide food. Luckily, at family functions, I am not the only baseball widow[er]. Two of my sister-in-law-in-law's are in much the same boat. We usually get stuck entertaining the kids while everyone else is busy watching the game. Hoo-rah. At least, with the post season taking place and my wife's team eliminated, I can be glad that there are far fewer games for me to deal with in the immediate future. However, I must say the following: "Lose, Yankees, Lose" damn Yankees. |
