So, I just landed another job. For those of you keeping score at home, this is job #2, and I am also in grad school full time.

I can't believe how much fun this is. Not everyone gets to have jobs like mine, or to study a subject that he loves, and I just wanted to say how great all this is. As well, I am now going to be able to afford to live a lot better than I was before. I'm going to put some money into a GIC, when I make some, and I'm going to buy a new winter coat (my old one is pretty ratty, and this is a cold city.)

	In this time of many doomed companies and crashing economies, it is nice to hear about someone hiring. Tell us, what are you now doing for financial motivation? For your own sake, I hope it has a longer future than some of our other favorite websites.

	I'm now the executive secretary of the graduate students' union here. This job is not as dumb as it might sound. The GSU has a budget of about $1 million, and it's heady stuff overseeing that kind of money - especially when it's outside my field. I also get the call the president of the university 'Bob.' Nathan -- Li'l Sis: Yo, that's a real grey area. Even by my lax standards.

	Glad to hear that starving musicians have other skills they can fall back on. And it's a nice perq that you can call the president "Bob", although given that you're a student at his university, you should be able to call him Bob anyway. You know, equality and all that...

	do have a lot of skills. I was just yanking your chain by repeating the usual (ignorant, prejudiced, accountant) party line. Have fun with the president. Just remember that when he starts to wear a dog collar and leather harnesses for you, it's gone too far and you both need to get help.
