So shaken as we are, so wan with care,

I just want to say that all of you really make me nervous, and I think I'm making a mistake to even be posting one word here. I felt the same way about GiZ. So why do it?

I dunno. I'm kind disappointed in K5 right this second, and the background color isn't so off-putting like that pink swirly seizure-inducing tile pattern that the lurching trolls have.

Shocking.
Don't waste your time reading this.
Who knew?
Paging Dr. Science, paging Dr. Science...
Damn them.
But then that is really all the more reason to be nervous. I'm just walking into some kind of conspiracy and I'm going to regret it.

Hey! I finally went and found pictures of that Natalie Portman person, guessing that that might be her in the mascot photo. I sort of remember the girl in the clown makeup from the ads for that Star Wars movie a couple years ago, but I didn't until recently realize that she is the one in those hot grits crapfloods. But now I've actually seen her without the clown makeup.

So. Um... she isn't exactly a dog, but she's pretty close to average, isn't she? Can she at least act?

Never mind. I probably don't want to know and will be sorry I asked.

The articles seem original and interesting, and also well written, especially compared to a lot of stuff on k5. Also, no MLP! And no uber-serious moderation whining and strife (as yet:)

I suppose I should get around to making an account, while I can still grab a nice low UID.

So. Um... she isn't exactly a dog, but she's pretty close to average, isn't she? Can she at least act?

!!

In the end it is all a matter of taste, but I do think saying she is 'pretty close to average' is a travesty of justice.

You're not missing much concerning Geekizoid. The level of discussion there is roughly on par with Slashdot. This place, OTOH, shows considerably more promise.

In the meantime, I implore of you:
Acquire a movie entitled Leon.

Watch it.

Very soon, all will become clear.

It is rather quiet just now, but as we are so young that is to be expected.

We just have to try and get the word out as best we can, until such time as we have a self sufficient community of posters.

Hopefully we should achieve this before long.

What is geekizoid anyway ? (5.00 / 1) (#5)
by Anonymous Reader on Tue Jul 10th, 2001 at 09:30:49 AM PST
Is it anything like comp-u-geek.net ?

I am a bit scared to follow that link. On another website, there are often links that appear to point to a legitimate site, but when you click on them they go somewhere else (often somewhere you would rather not go). Is this geekizoid some sort of bizarre porn site ?

It is my understanding that this website will quickly censor any post that misleadingly leads to pornographic material.

Is this geekizoid some sort of bizarre porn site ?

Yes.

Yes it is.

"Leon." I was just reading about that somewhere... Oh, yeah, maybe it was here. Hey! I've seen this movie already... but it was called "The Professional." So that was this Natalie Portman? Well. I guess I'm not so totally ignorant of our pop culture after all. Nice to know that, anyway.

OK. I'll hang around this adequacy site and see what the supreme soviet lets pop out of their elitist private queue. You know that they are way more intelligent than us, and that we'd be surprised if we found out what bigshots they real identities? We're lucky they let the public like us even near the site.

:-)

Leon vs. The Professional (5.00 / 1) (#9)
by manifold on Wed Jul 11th, 2001 at 02:55:08 AM PST
Get Leon (the European version) if you can - it contains a lot of footage that was cut from the American version that's quite important to what the story is about.

About the nervousness thing anyway.

I submitted a (very short) story on elitism, just to test the waters, but I didn't realise its a private submission queue, so that weirded me out.

I'm guessing it will vanish because all it really was was: "Ahhh - your no better than the rest of them are you?"

That said, it is an important question, considering the basic premis of the site.

The clown girl from Episode I (none / 0) (#7)
by Orion Blastar on Tue Jul 10th, 2001 at 12:12:12 PM PST
Hhmmmm, you are correct. I guess I haven't seen her enough without the clown princess makeup. She looked like a Geisha Girl to me in that movie. I wonder if she will return in Episode II, or if they will pick a woman a bit older than her? Anakin is supposed to grow up and so is she. Didn't she like turn 16 recently in real life and the fanboys were waiting for her to turn legal age?
