It is a relatively commone word. I guess if they were copying this site or similiar enough to be easily confused, then that would be a point. But, it appears to be an entirely different type of website. Besides, I assume this site is a .org because adequacy.com was already taken. In other words, someone already thought of this using the word "adequacy".
When I was going to college, the sorities were complaining that there were stores that sold greek letters (which could be assembled into their names). The sorities claimed to own the greek alphabit. The baseball team the Dodgers is trying to shut down a bar that is older than they are, which happens to be called the old nickname for Brooklyn, Dodgers. Hollywood, CA is trying to deny the right of the city that it was named after (Hollywood, FL) to use its name. The Olympics claims that they invented the name, and that pizza shops can't use the name. Three thousand years ago, someone else invented that name.
I agree with copyright and trademark ownership, but come on. There should be an outer limit.
