To the Tro...er...Editor (Inifinite in Their Wisdom) who thought it would be funny to modify my signature to include a hyperlink to an insulting website, it's a shame you didn't disable the "preview" function. Unlike some induhviduals, I like to double-check my statements for logic faults and typographical errors.

This letter was brought to you by your favorite ghoti, maintaining his existence as the Editors' (Infinite in Their Wisdom) Favorite.

It won't get deleted (5.00 / 1) (#1)

Although I find it hard to believe that someone changed something in your user info. I would come in with some proof before you accuse people of tampering.

Point conceded (1.00 / 2) (#3)
by SpaceGhoti on Tue Jul 31st, 2001 at 09:53:19 AM PST
I should have made a screenshot of the altered user info before I changed it back.

Not that the editorial changes to this and my previous diary entries don't help to drive my point home.

I think you are greatly overestimating what we have the time/energy/desire to do. I don't really know who you are, and the editors who have the power to do what you say we have done (me and elby) wouldn't really care to do anything like you have suggested.

You keep thinking that. (1.00 / 2) (#8)
by SpaceGhoti on Tue Jul 31st, 2001 at 10:07:11 AM PST
I had the foresight to print this diary entry before and after modification was made for the benefit of a friend who also reads this site. Shall I scan and post them on a website for your benefit?

I don't think elby did it; I don't know if you've the capacity to do such a thing. But it doesn't change the fact that someone did it, and either it was an Editor (Inifinite in Their Wisdom) who thinks it's a funny joke or someone has hacked your site. Either way, it demonstrates the mindset and maturity I've come to expect from Adequacy.org.

Just calling it like I see it.

It's very difficult to save a local copy and edit the html code yourself. You are truly a brilliant little sociopath. I'm starting to see why others on this site don't like you.

It's very difficult to save a local copy and edit the html code yourself.

Oh look, you found me out. I saved a local copy of the source code and all of the images, refreshed it on my browser and printed it. Certainly, no Editor (Infinite in Their Wisdom) would take the time to enter the database to edit my preferences or submissions. Of course, you're right and I'm just a worm looking to attract attention to myself. None of the Editors (Infinite in Their Wisdom) would stoop to the levels that I've sunk to. It's clear for all to see that this is my normal behavior.

I hope it's warm and cozy in there.

Editors (Infinite in Their Wisdom)

You are a sad person. You repeat that phrase more than a slashbot says M$ or a troll says slashbot.

Sad (1.00 / 2) (#15)

That may be true and I won't argue it. That just makes this so much more amusing.

I take offense to that remark.

But who do you think we've been discussing throughout this thread? Not osm.

I've never played any sort of practical joke on you. I've refuted some of your more moronic assertions and I edited your submission (improving it), but nothing hostile. Why do you suspect me?<br><br>--Peter<br>I forgot my password.

Let me tell you a story. (5.00 / 2) (#7)
by CaptainZornchugger on Tue Jul 31st, 2001 at 10:02:26 AM PST
When I was a teenager, or maybe slightly younger, I had a good friend by the name of Josiah (still do, in fact) Now, Josiah and I had a similar sense of humour, and one thing we enjoyed was Abbot & Costello's "Who's on first" routine. We also listened to the classic rock stations, and we would occasionally have a conversation which mimiced the Abbot & Costello routine in some ways. For example, American Woman by the Guess Who would be on the radio, and our conversation would go something like this.

J: "Who did this song?"
Z: "No, Guess Who did."
J: "Hey, I asked you first!"
Z: "And I answered."
J: "No, You said Guess Who"
Z: "Yes"
J: "So Who did it?"
Z: "No, Guess Who did. Who did Pinball Wizard."
J: "I don't know who did Pinball Wizard, I wanna know who did this song!"
Z: "But they didn't. Guess Who did."
J: "I don't wanna Guess Who!"
Z: "Then why are we listening to them? Turn the station."
J: "Listening to who?"
Z: "Guess Who."
J: "Guess who?"
Z: "Yes"
J: "We're listening to Yes?"
Z: "No."

We'd have this conversation in various modified formats, but you get the point. Now, we knew another kid named Craig who would sometimes insist on hanging around with us. And Every once in a while, we'd launch into the same dialog, with Craig around. We'd get a few lines into it, when Craig would interrupt us by saying,

"Hey! That's just like that Abbot and Costello routine, 'Who's on first'! Do ya'll know Abbot & Costello? Except ya'll are doing it wrong. See, You're supposed to introduce him as the manager of a new baseball team, and then he's supposed to say..."

At this point, we would usually attempt to kick Craig's ass.

There's a moral to this story, but I'm not going to tell you what it is. Do you know why I'm not going to tell you what it is?

What about Them? (2.50 / 2) (#9)

We'll work on an expanded version. I'm sure Them and The Band will be included, and any others I've forgotten right now.

do I know you? (1.00 / 2) (#12)

you see, the conversation with all these bands is very similar to ones I had with others in high school and later in college...

There is, of course, the other trick wherein an Editor (Infinite in Their Wisdom) edits an entry after the fact to include yet another hyperlink to an insulting website.

I rest my case.
