Yeah it says I would be a H&K PDW.

I was rated as Alliant Techsystems OICW.

By coincidence, my favorite one - I like it even more than AK-47, though I wouldn't pick it if I wouldn't be able to assure the necessary logistics support in the field.

But I think I would go with the Glock 17 if I was in the market for a new gun.

Apparently I am the Beretta M92. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing since I was taught that guns are bad.

Beretta (none / 0) (#10)
by Right Hand Man on Thu Aug 8th, 2002 at 09:03:53 PM PST
The Beretta 92 is an excellent sidearm. It is the choice of many law enforcement agencies and is the standard issue pistol for the United States Army and Navy. It replaced the excellent 1911, a remarkable feat.

Guns are certainly not bad. They are the teeth of liberty, something I would expect your childhood Communist handlers to have avoided teaching you.

I expect that not much can be done about it at this point, but your user name would more properly be "Reared by Communists". No doubt Communist schooling is failed you.

I am apparently a Dragunov Sniper Rifle. While I agree that an accurate, long range rifle suits me, "Dragunov" sounds rather Communist. Of course, the H&K PSG-1 seems rather Nazi. I think I would have gotten a more accurate result if American or British sniper rifles were included. Maybe I'm something like this.

No (none / 0) (#12)
by Right Hand Man on Thu Aug 8th, 2002 at 09:11:43 PM PST
I disagree with the result of the test. The #1 ranked firearm according to my answers was an Uzi, and I am not particularly fond of those. Having received specialty training as a rifleman the 'spray and pray' technique does not appeal to me. I tend to think of myself, when I think of myself in terms of what firearm I would be, which isn't often, as something along the lines of a Remington 870. Simple, reliable, effective. Tests such as these are yet more evidence that the psycology community is nothing more than troop of bunko artists, waiting to hoodwink the naieve.

Regardless, this is one of the finest diary entries to date. To add to the fun I wish to submit that the majority of those who frequent Adequacy are more like the weapons produced by this company than any others. While their appearance is fearsome, they are generally harmless.

I got the same thing. I'm tellin' ya, I'm pleased as punch. Having grown up on a healthy diet of John Woo and old World War II movies, I'm a bit of a gun-nut, and have amassed large amounts of useless knowledge about various tools of destruction. The G11 is one of my faves.

The H&K G11 is basically the cutting edge of squad-level support weaponry. It's unusual bullpup design allows for ease of use and decreased kick, and German draftees reported an accuracy increase of up to 50 percent in field tests.

It fires 4.7 mm caseless rounds- a cartridge of propellant with a bullet buried inside. Because of the space savings, each clip can hold up to 45 rounds, and the weapon itself holds three separate clips (135 bullets). Because of the nature of the caseless round, nothing is ejected, making the weapon reliable in extreme conditions, and also allowed for easier maintenance due to the lack of dirt.

The weapon itself is a marvel of German engineering. In 3 round burst mode it fires at 2000 rpm, and in full auto fires in 600 rpm, at a practical range of 300 meters, with the range maxing out at 600 meters. It has excellent penetration, and has an ammunition failure rate of 1/485 (out of 60,000 bullets fired continuously), with a minimum cook-off rate of 150 rounds at 60 rpm. All this in a package that is about 75 cm (30 in.) in length, and 4.5 kg (9 lbs. or so) fully loaded.

God. I'm such a geek.

That's a big gun. Do you have penis size issues ?

by Juan Fernandez on Fri Aug 9th, 2002 at 01:26:22 PM PST
Your firearm H&K 69A1 Grenade Launcher is bigger than the Desert Eagle so you should better delete this comment or everybody at adequacy will think your penis is even smaller than this poor brainless typing monkey's!

Indeed you are correct. Logic rules at adequacy. (none / 0) (#20)
by dmg on Fri Aug 9th, 2002 at 04:08:11 PM PST
However, for a grenade launcher it is quite small, so it's clear there are no penile size issues at this end thank you very much Mr Fernandez. The Desert Eagle on the other hand is about 1.5 - 2 times larger than it needs to be to perform the task in hand. The Desert Eagle could contribute to your death, if you were not used to handling such a large weapon in a combat situation. Far better to stick with a smaller easier to handle (probably European built) 9mm.

Dragunov sounds communist? No, that would be Russian, dumbass. H&K PSG-1 sounds like a Nazi name? No, that would be German, dumbass. Maybe you soccer moms and/or liberals ought to get out once in a while. Or at least catch up on world history. If I'm not mistaken, Russia is now a democracy and the Nazi regime was beaten to bloody pulp over sixty years ago. I'm sorry but I really have no tolerance for people like you.
