It's obviously limited to competent terrorist organizations. |

Scientology is a legitimate spiritual organization, not unlike the Catholic church. |

Hamas is not a terrorist organisation. It is a legitimate political movement and undoubtedly the future governing force among Palestinians when Arafat dies and the Fatah falls to pieces. "Hamas provides food and cash to all of Gaza's poor, regardless of their political affiliation, periodically handing out to each family the equivalent of $50 in Israeli shekels" (Richard Engel). When the terrorist zionist settlers raze Palestinian homes, it's Hamas, not Fatah or the PLO that helps get them back on their feet. The violent acts that members commit, seen through a zionist viewpoint in the west, where the media is controlled largely by jews, are actually an extreme form of civil disobedience which is not usually intended to cause death. As Israel attempts to create a new holocaust with Arabs as victims, the mounting pressure gives rise to more civil disobedience, and at some point there's so much that an innocent person is likely to be harmed. This tragic loss of life has to be viewed as collateral damage by Palestinians, who are on the verge of having their society stamped out by an increasingly militaristic Israel. At some point you have to make your voice heard, or you will end up living out your life "peacefully" in a concentration camp. |

At adequacy.org, we fully understand the agenda of the dominant media. As such any references to terrorist organizations should be taken with a pinch of salt. In other words, there are implicit '' around the word terrorist, whenever it is used at this site. After all, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. And one man's legitimate government is another man's oppressive regime. And most of us have read plenty of Noam Chomsky. Without wishing to trivialise the whole middle eastern conflict, I suspect that it won't be over any time soon. i don't know how i ended up caring so much (ok i sort of do but i shouldn't care as much as i do) but i agree with you. and i, unlike most americans anyway, pretty much put the majority of the blame on israel. as much as i wanted to stop caring after the peace process fell apart, i didn't, and now every day i hear about death and violence and oppression and it's not getting better. for things like dmca and napster it's great that you can write your representatives, but for something like this, how can you make a difference? i can't really be giving money to hamas, for a variety of reasons. imo saying anything other than 'it won't be over any time soon' is trivialising the whole situation. |

You left out PETA and EarthFirst! Of course, both are so wimpy and pathetic that nobody could possibly consider them their favorite, so I suppose it was an understandable editorial decision. |

The Red Brigade & Badder-Meinhoff. The former were in italy and the later were German. The Red Brigade was well known for shooting kneecaps. Bader-Meinhoff just blew things up. I just missed one of their bombs in '80 at Octoberfest in Munich.

Terrorist Organizations or people fighting occuping forces? Is the PLO terrorist or Palestinians fighting the oppressive Israeli army that has them under curfew, steals their land, ignores international law and restricts access to drinking water so Israelis can have fresh water for their pools and lawns? Are they terrorists because they are fighting with primitive weapons against an army financed by the USA ($3billion plus every year) and equipped with the latest arms? They are defending their homes against a tyrrant throwing them out of their homes to give them to new comers from New York.
Guess every revolutionary group in the world is a terrorist organization. |
