Not much going on. Still worried about the whole "potentially going blind" thing. Perhaps the eternal love of Jesus Christ can save me from that horrible, horrible fate...

Okay, I've been reading too many Rightman columns...

I'm very bored, sitting here right now. I was busy all day, and now I've hit a lull. I should probably do some looking into how the hell this one Mac I'm going to fix tomorrow keeps on crashing everytime I attempt to install the drivers for the HP printer/scanner/fax/copier machine. It's very annoying.

Not much else going on. I'll just post this vainglorious idiocy and be on my way...

Actually, the Bible Belt needs to be saved (none / 0) (#1)

populated as it it by too many people who believe that just because they can read the Bible they can fully understand God without additional help. Sort of like those people who believe that just because they can read Linux source code and understand some of it, they're l33t haxors.

What experience do you have that would indicate the bible belt is actually worth "saving"?

But (none / 0) (#5)

The problem with a lot of middle America Christians that I have met is that they seem to think simply going to church is enough to get them through this life. Maybe they read the bible a little but they really don't live their lives according to God's word. They fornicate, take the Lord's name in vain, eat at buffets, be gay, etc. They don't seem to realize that they have to actually live like a Christian rather than like a heathen who goes to confession regularly.

Eat at buffets?? (none / 0) (#6)
by Moonshadow76 on Thu Nov 29th, 2001 at 08:53:51 PM PST
While I can understand what is being illustrated about many "middle American Christians" attending church on Sundays and then ignoring the spiritual aspect of their lives entirely, I have NO CLUE about why eating at buffets was mentioned. Please enlighten me as to why this is included. Is it something to do with eating unclean animals or cooking meat in milk?? That's the only thing I could think of off hand. I have obviously missed something about buffets that would be helpful to know about if I am going to eat out at family gatherings.

Eating at a buffet isn't inherently sinful, but the behavior of some people I have observed there is.

I have recently returned from a hunting trip in Indiana and while there my companions and I went to a buffet for dinner. During the entire experience I bore witness to the most disgusting display of gluttony that I had ever witnessed. Those people didn't just eat, they were like a plague of locusts that set upon the restaurant, from the moment they stampeded through the door until the moment the rolled their food engorged carcasses out to their vehciles. I was appalled.

I mentioned that partly in jest, to see if anyone noticed.

Here is something you need to read to be saved from the evil that is Wicca.

Ok, not really, but I'm in a particularly smartass mood today. I thought it was quite funny though, as are all the things on chick.com

as are all chick tracts: what a great collectible. I'd write more but my brain is beginning to gel up from all the acid.
