to feed a troll, but here goes...
I don't see why somebody else's choice of OS should bother you this much.
It doesn't. I merely find it amusing that Mr. McNamera would claim that "I'm probably twice as smart as you are", then reveal that he runs linux. Obviously, one (if not both) of his claims are false.
And Windows XP is known to be the most PlaySkool-esque version of Windows. What's your point?
What's yours? XP's ease of use and power is one of its greatest strengths.
He can run whatever OS he wants on his hardware, be it Windows, Linux, Solaris, a *BSD, etc.
Far be it from me to dispute that. But it amuses me to see someone who runs "Linux, Solaris, a *BSD" to claim to be "probably twice as smart as you are."
Frankly, its a little insulting.
When a Linux distribution increases it's ease of use, thereby making it more accessible, you are still able to turn it around and use it as an argument against the use of Linux.
Again, it is simply interesting to see Mr. McNamera straddle the fence here - he really wants everything that Windows has to offer, but can't bring himself to go the whole way. So he uses Mandrake instead. He wants both worlds. He wants to be "l337," and still have a usable operating system.
