I bought the "Fifth Element" yesterday prior to passing out for 16 hours. I like the movie OK, but the main reason for watching it is Milla Jovovich. I had never seen the beginning of the movie. Imagine my shock.

Yes, the director of the movie is none other than Luc Besson. The visionary who cast Natalie Portman as the 12-year-old temptress in "Leon".

In related news, it is quite unfortunate that Ted Demme, the visionary who cast Natalie Portman as a 14-year-old temptress in "Beautiful Girls", has died. May he Rest in Peace.

I saw her when she was a singer. She opened up for someone who sucked and I can't even remember who it was.

Who would win in a fight between Lola Rennt and Leelu?

Also, I think Luc Besson should direct Bruce Willis and Natalie Portman in a film version of "The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester.

This girl in high school more or less forced me to read that. God, did I ever hate it. I hate Gully Foyle. ugh.

Anyway, I don't know if Natalie Portman is a good choice for Foyle. I don't know how well she'd do in the scene where she'd have to rape the nurse. Prolly break down and start weeping like a woman.

Leelu wouldn't have a chance. She may be a perfect being, a master-asskicker, and alien-killer, but Lola has infinitely many lives. If she gets killed once, she just restarts the fight, until Leelu gets tired for lack of love and she wins.

An interesting hypothesis, but fatally flawed. As we all know, Leelu is love, and love conquers all. Whereas Lola Rennt is simply a not funny rehash of Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. Love versus a fat man in a tight skirt? My money is on love, then again my money is spent on love.
More than meets the eye!

Love is really bad at hitting back.

I saw her when she was a singer.

I remember seeing her in a black and white video. I didn't know her name at the time, so I didn't realize it was HER video. I just thought the director had (wisely) chosen her to be in it (naked).

Who would win in a fight between Lola Rennt and Leelu?

None of the above. Whoever was lucky enough to observe such a fight would be the clear winner.

Also, I think Luc Besson should direct Bruce Willis and Natalie Portman in a film version of "The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester.

I used to not like Bruce Willis until I saw Pulp Fiction. Now I can't remember why I had never liked him.

Of course, anything with Natalie Portman in it would be an instant classic.
