A: NO! Any internet user with a graphics-capable browser is welcome to enjoy the intoxicating grandeur of this innovative new website.

I assume, sir, that the proper browser and OS-checking procedures will be in place, with redirection to appropriate sites when non-standard or hacked OS or browser applications are detected?

Otherwise, I am waiting excitedly for this new web site content experience.

Violators of internet law will be dealt with in the harshest possible manner. And more.

Anyone with two or more brain cells knows that Unlawful and Wrong aren't exactly overlapping. Especially when the Laws are bought by the Industry.

With broad-enough base for civil disobedience, enforceability of a given law approaches zero. Small-scale, relatively safe and not reasonably detectable (and thus available for even people unwilling to put their necks on the line of fire and setting up "open" mirror servers) civil disobedience - keeping a copy of a "forbidden" piece of source code, being it DeCSS or (recent case) bnetd (a copy for download for interested parties will be somewhere here - be patient) should be matter of freedom-loving citizen's duty. A version of samizdat, only with different totalitaritarian rulers.

Dear, I think this horse is long past dead. Cf: numerous past articles and diary entries on this fine site.

And tkatchev should come over to your house and beat you with a large palakh box for having the gall to compare samizdat with your inability to download stolen music. Next thing you know, you'll be comparing Shaun Fanning to Martin Luther King or M.K.Gandhi.

The only reason for downloading stolen music, the way I see it, is when it's impossible to buy it in any "normal" way.

Far too much of the truly good stuff out there is simply out of print or is manufactured in miserably small quantites.

You are right - it was the samizdat comparison that got my blood pressure up.

You have to realize, though, that "samizdat" also included a lot of truly god-awful crap; mostly stuff that would have never seen the light of day in normal circumstances.

I don't know if you're talking about the original series or the one that is (was?) on the sci-fi channel, but do you happen to know if they ever plan on releasing "lexx - tales from a parallel universe" on dvd?

I saw it once while drinking with friends and quite enjoyed it.
